Christmas on the Farm – A Review

christmas on the farm

Christmas on the farm is a bit different to your average family holiday. Instead of waking up early to unwrap presents, a typical farming family will be milking cows, checking on livestock or pushing up silage. Growing Christmas trees is a lot of hard work, too. But it’s also a great way for families to spend time together, and it’s a lot of fun.

In Christmas on the Farm, Poppy Montgomery stars as Clementine Jones, an author whose book about getting back to nature on her blissful Australian farm is snatched up by New York powerhouse publisher London & London. When the publishers say they want to experience an authentic Clementine Christmas before signing the deal, Emmy rushes back to the farm, ropes in her cousin David (Hugh Sheridan) and his husband Miles (Nicholas Brown) and pulls out all the stops to maintain her big lie.

It’s a fun lighthearted romantic comedy with plenty of laughs and some great performances. The movie was a delight to watch and I found myself smiling throughout the entire film! The set design and costumes were a real treat, too. I think it’s a great movie for all ages, and I will definitely be watching it again.

A couple of months ago we asked our Facebook and Twitter followers if they’d be keen to go on a Christmas Tree Farm tour this year. The response was hugely positive, so we’re very excited to announce that Christmas on the Farm is back for 2018! We’ll be taking groups of people through a range of Christmas tree farms in the Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how Christmas trees are grown. There will also be plenty of festive activities, including making your own ornaments, churning butter and cooking Christmas puddings.

The cost of the tour is $80 per person and includes a behind-the-scenes guided farm tour, activities, lunch and an exclusive souvenir Christmas Tree gift bag. To secure your place, head to our booking page and fill in the details. We’ll then send you an email with all the info you need to get ready for your day on the farm.

We’re also running a special offer of 10% off your Christmas on the Farm ticket when you purchase tickets before December 30. Simply use the code XMASONTHEFARM10 at checkout to claim your discount.

And don’t forget to check out our other Christmas events, like the Blue Mountains Yule Log Festival. You can also take a ride on our horse-drawn wagon, shop the Winter Gift Barn and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at the cafe!
